Naturescapes - Sustainable Landscape Solutions is a small landscaping business in the central valley of California. I began Naturescapes in 2015, smack in the middle of the several-years-long drought that has had such a devastating impact on the lives and livelihoods of so many people in this region.
My focus as a landscaper is to encourage the complete or partial removal of traditional, water-thirsty turf lawns, replacing them with natural mulches, drought-tolerant species of plants (natives, where possible and practicable), and landscaping features that are sustainable, that nourish and benefit pollinators of all kinds, and that provide homeowners and neighbors with aesthetically pleasing, low-maintenance, alternative landscape solutions.
One of the hardscape design features that I enjoy working with is the Labyrinth - a centuries-old walking path used for meditation, prayer, pilgrimage and healing. I design and install labyrinths (ancient as well as contemporary styles) made from a variety of materials, depending on intended use, location, and available materials. If you'd like to learn more about labyrinths, please browse the Labyrinth page on this site.
If you're interested in making a change toward sustainability and water-wise planting in your landscape, feel free to contact me and set up a consultation! My contact information as well as my current fee schedule is available on the Contact Page.
Feel free to browse my Galleries and give me some feedback or send me a question. I'd love to hear from you! Thanks!
